Bottle Science 101
Remember that your company or team color scheme can often be achieved by using different colors of caps and ink. For example if your colors are red and black, a white bottle with a red cap and black ink makes a beautiful presentation.Water bottles are printed much the same way as T-Shirts, your artwork is burned into a physical silk-screen, leaving the areas open in the mesh that define your art. The screen is filled with your chosen ink color and then a squeegee presses the ink through the mesh to print your image on the bottle. Each color that is required for your design, requires us to make a separate screen, and then run each bottle through again, to print the 2nd..3rd...etc...colors of ink in your artwork. Therefore, the price is more for the printed bottle and the screen charges for multi-color artwork.
Other answers to common questions:
Is black a color?
Yes, we need to print black ink.
When I re-order do I have to pay the screen charges again?
No, you do not have to pay the $50.00 or $75.00 screen charge. However, there is a repeat setup charge of $32.00 per screen.
I want to order 500 1-Color print bottles, but I want 300 with black ink and 200 with blue ink, does this cost more?
Yes, but only $25.00. It is a ink change charge, the cost for us to stop the machine, pull the screen, wash the ink out in a chemical bath, install the screen again and fill with the new ink color.
Does it cost more to print on the top of the large bottles?
Yes, on all large bottles except for the WideMouth 30oz.This is the only bottle where the top and bottom are in the same plane and we can print both areas at the same time. On all the other bottles we need to make a separate, smaller screen, which is positioned at a slight angle to print the top area. All bottles with a top print then need to be run through again to print this area. This adds an additional printing charge of 20 cents per bottle, per color. Plus $36.00 to make the new smaller screen.

Art on disk or attached to e-mail is welcome; Multi-color artwork should be supplied as an"ai" or "eps" file in "vector" format, with necessary fonts and linked graphics supplied. (Don't let the technical terms scare you. Your printer, graphic artist or ad agency most likely has your logo on file in this format and will know exactly what we're talking about.)
Reflective artwork: Single color artwork may be supplied as a black and white printout, at actual size or larger. Your printer should be able to print out at least 300dpi resolution for best results. Please give us a call with any questions you may have...we're very flexible and willing to work with you.
Definitions and descriptions:
About the "vector" file format: Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Freehand are examples of applications that save files in vector format. Instead of creating a mosaic of your image out of square colored blocks called 'pixels' as in a GIF, JPEG or TIF file, vector files store data as lines, shapes, text and other objects. Vector images can be scaled by any amount without looking grainy or pixilated. Vector images also can easily carry the information needed to separate your image into multiple ink colors as required for our silk screening process.
